Your learning stays with you

Mural saves transcripts, vocabulary, learning progress and settings on your device. Hackmamba does not receive a copy of that learning record. Mural does not save raw audio. Your personal OpenAI API key stays in your device’s Keychain and is sent to OpenAI to authorize your requests.

What leaves your device

To hold a conversation, Mural sends audio to OpenAI. Selected text is also sent for meaning subtitles, teaching feedback and word explanations. Current-topic searches send your query and relevant context to OpenAI’s search service. These requests happen when you use the corresponding feature, after you agree to AI processing.

OpenAI processes these requests under its own privacy policy and API data controls. We disable application storage where supported. That does not remove provider abuse-monitoring retention, which may last up to 30 days by default. Avoid sharing information you do not want processed by an AI service.

The website and support

Mural adds no advertising trackers or marketing analytics to this website. Cloudflare hosts this website and receives the IP address and request information needed to deliver and protect it. If you email us, we use your message and address to answer you and keep the correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the request and meet legal obligations.

Your controls

You can export and import your learning record in Settings, delete individual conversations or all learning data, and remove your API key. Your exported files and device backups are under your control. Deleting local data does not retroactively delete information already processed by OpenAI.

Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information we hold, or to exercise other rights that apply where you live. You may also complain to your data-protection authority. Requests concerning an OpenAI account may need to be made to OpenAI.

Accounts and credits

Mural accounts, hosted free minutes and paid credits are not enabled in this preview. Before enabling them, we will update this policy to explain the signup, billing, usage and security records needed to operate those services, their retention periods and your deletion options. Learning content will remain on-device; cloud AI processing will still be necessary.
